Composer Study - Frederick Delius

Large orchestra, big tone poem things that are formalist and sort of meander from there to there.

Composer of post Wagner, nature inspired, gentle, evanescence, nothingness. Major composer who dabbled in operas, big choral works, tone poems, string quartets and concertos. HIs most popular piece is On Hearing the First Cuckoo in SpringSea Drift after Walt Whitman
He wrote a lot for voices in opera. The most typical work by Delius is A Song of the High Hills.
