Nothing But Leaves
Bible study today: Mark 11:12 - 12:12
Jesus found nothing but leaves. That fig tree was not building on the progress that it started ~Joshua
A thoroughfare: from the supermarket, here they came with shopping bags straight through the temple...for that had become a shortcut! This was the shortest way to the bus station.
You could buy this pigeon for one dollar out there, but in here it costs ten dollars.
Isaiah 56:7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
Jeremiah 7:11 Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the Lord.
Some years our locust tree blooms gloriously, other years it does not. But today does it ever bloom!

Art Class: Giotto di Bondone: Infidelity and Faith, 1306
On fidelity and faithfulness towards others and in marriage, we watched a biography of princess Diana's turbulent life, destroyed by unfaithfulness and selfishness.
Bible Study Today: Luke 17. Offences are bound to come but woe to him or she by whom they come.
The type of sermon that would get most pastors handed their heads on a
platter. Richard Baxter has this to say on the subject of Christian
modesty in dress: "And though it be their sin and vanity that is the
cause, it is nevertheless your sin to be the unnecessary occasion, For
you must consider that you live among diseased souls! And you must not
lay a stumbling-block in their way, nor blow up the fire of their lust,
nor make your ornaments their snares; but you must walk among sinful
persons as you would do with a candle among straw or gunpowder; or else
you may see the flame which you would not foresee, when it is too late
to quench it."

HE IS NO FOOL
"He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose." ~Jim Elliot~
Bible Study Today: Luke 16:1-18 9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

The Causeless Atheist
The Anger of God in our Day and Age by David Pawson
“There is no God”, the speaker cries
“Don’t let your thoughts be chained
This universe evolved itself
The world is self contained”
Just then an urchin in the crowd
A skillful pebble throws
Which accurately lands
Upon his atheistic nose
“Who threw that stone?” the speaker roars
At which the cockney elf
Intuitively keenly retorts
“No one, it threw itself”
So a pathetic casualty
Discomfited and worse,
Goes home to meditate
Upon this causeless universe.
This mental immodesty
Which is sheer arrogance
Leads to moral imbecility
And makes a man a fool
He loses his sense
And can no longer talk
Or think honestly.
Psalm 14:1
