On Christmas: It is not how we want to worship God, it is how He wants and instructs us to worship Him

WE HAVE NO superstitious regard for times and seasons. Certainly we do not believe in the present ecclesiastical arrangement called Christmas: first, because we do not believe in the mass at all, but abhor it, whether it be said or sung in Latin or in English; and, secondly, because we find no Scriptural warrant whatever for observing any day as the birthday of our Savior; and, consequently, its observance is a superstition, becauseit is not of divine authority. -Charles Spurgeon.

Israel: Against all Odds

History lesson: Documentary videos of what has been dubbed as the greatest hostage rescue in history, the raid on Entebbe in 1976 and the Israeli 6 day wars in what was Gamal Abdel Nasser's and the surrounding Arab nation's heavy losses to Israel in 1967. The Arab coalition vowed explicitly that their aim was to annihilate the State of Israel and one would think they read Pslams 83 and set out to fulfill it. We began by reading 2 Chronicles 12 and 13 about the Kings of Judah and some of their million enemies rising up against them. As in many instances before, they cried out to the Lord and against incredible odds and He delivered them in ways that ordinary military campaigns cannot explain. What God said in Zechariah 12:6 is happening right before our eyes....."In that day I will make the govenors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf: and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem." I am told that the military experts at West Point won't study Israel's wars: because their outcomes are too impossible.
