Art Class: Giotto di bondone: Prudence - Foolishness, 1306

  • We watched the movie: 12 Angry Men
  • Read the article on the The Imaginative Conservative about examining the corrosive effects of prejudice, which is at heart a failure of the virtue prudence. The classical tradition considered prudence to be the leader or "charioteer" of the other virtues, setting their rule and measure...HERE
  • We scoured our upcoming summer schedule and in light of past summer time consumers, eliminated a lot of imprudent activities, regaining hours, days, weeks and, 'gasp' MONTHS!
  • We watched the PBS Frontline Documentary - Two American Families and discussed how quickly life tends to happen and why it is so very important to get off the 70mph life-train and think, look ahead and most importantly ask the question: "How has this worked out for me in the past, how am I doing now and where am I going, exactly." Proverbs 22:3 " A prudent man forseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished."
  • Proverbs 12:16, Prov 12:23, Proverbs 19:4, Proverbs 13:16,  Prov 14:15m , Prov 18:15,  Proverbs 14:18.
  • Abigail, Nabal and David...or as our Abigail would put it..."David attacks Nabal for a Vineyard"
  • Moses and his father-in-law: Jethro
  • Nehemiah oversees the building of the walls of Jerusalem
  • Rehoboam and the aged counsellors: Out with the old and in with the new.
  • David and Ahithophel.
