Morning Star of the Reformation - John Wycliffe

...Many came to faith in Christ and began to learn the world of God for the first time in their lives. The local priests would have none of this and obtained a law to stop the evangelists. They waited to fall upon the preachers when the travelers entered a town. But the people often sided with the preachers, forming a strong ring around them to protect them form harm....
"They burned his bones to ashes and cast them into the Swift, a neighboring brook running hard by. Thus the brook carried his ashes into the Avon, the Avon into the Severn, the Severn into the narrow seas and they into the main ocean. And so like his ashes the message of Wyclif has spread throughout the world."
